History and Outline

Opened in May 1996. As a botanical garden for seaside plants based on the plan of construction of a botanical garden park by Toyama Prefecture and a base of tourist facility of Himi City, Himi Seaside Botanical Garden was constructed at “Matsudae-no-Nagahama” (a long seaside promenade) where it was composed into the Man’yoshu (the earliest extant anthology of Japanese verse) as a scenic area of white sands and green pines.

Project

Collection and Exhibition

Green house, mangroves, tropical and subtropical plants, glass tube (a glass passage), climbing plants, gardens for display, seaside plants from various places in Japan, an exhibition hall and specimens of insects of the world.
