Rakusui-tei Museum of Art
History and Outline
“Rakusui” means enjoying the time with the garden plants. When Kosho-monshu (Japanese Buddhist priest) of Nishi-Honganji visited to the place, he named the Azumaya (an arbor of the garden) “Rakusui-tei” and wrote its signboard and we inherited it.
We think that all of you visiting here thoroughly enjoy the skill of Japanese Takumi (superior woodworker) with Japanese architecture and works of the modern artists, with the beauty of the fading garden of the four seasons.
We hope that this museum will be the place getting close to art through our collection and plan exhibition of well-known artists and young artists. In addition, we want to be the place of the dispatch to the prefecture outside for the activation and contribution of the area, and the tourist attraction of Toyama to produce the flow of a new person.
